Common Questions

  • Completion of 10 consecutive weeks of classroom instruction for a total of 80 classroom hours.

    Completion of lecture material, as well as clinical, “hands-on” training. In addition, students should complete home study hours, plus a voluntary 10-15 hours of “practical” on-the-job training. Students are encouraged to complete in-office observation hours.

    Pass/fail with 70% or higher as the passing mark, as determined by a mid-term and final exam, along with

    successfully completing clinical and practical experiences.

  • Tuition: $4900.00

    Initial Deposit: $100.00 (Includes non-refundable deposit of $100.00 due at the time of registration to hold a position in the next class).

    Down Payment: $1500.00 due on or before orientation. All students are required to make minimum down payment of the following on or first instructional day of class. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of the student’s space in our program. Student will not be allowed to attend classes.

    Weekly Payments: Students may elect to spread payments out over time, with a payment of $330 per week, prior to the start of each class week.

    Make payments to Today’s Dentist. We accept all major credit cards as well as Care Credit.

    Books & Supplies

    Students will be provided with their mandatory text books, laboratory equipment and supplies as part of tuition. Students will also be supplied with a set of scrubs to be worn to class.

    *Supplemental supplies will be at the discretion of the student.

  • Grant Scholarships Programs

    We do not accept any form of financial aid, however there are programs that may aid in tuition assistance. Two programs offer assistance that Today’s Dentist recognizes. Hampton Roads Workforce Council assists individuals that may qualify for government assistance. MyCAA supports military spouses and may cover up to $4,000.00 of the tuition. Today’s Dentist does not deem any individual qualified for either financial assistance options. Interested students would need to contact/apply directly to the organization.

    Hampton Roads Workforce Council

    To see if you would qualify for Financial Assistance through Hampton Roads Workforce Council, you will need to attend one of their orientations. Then, you will be assigned a caseworker to help you through the rest of the process.

    MyCAA: The Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program

    This program is a component of the Department of Defense. It’s a Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, a career development and employment assistance program. MyCAA helps military spouses pursue licenses, certificates, certifications or associate degrees.

    Who is eligible for MyCAA Financial Assistance?

    Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2 who can start and complete their coursework while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders, including spouses married to members of the National Guard and Reserve Components in these same pay grades.

    How can you establish a MyCAA Account?

    Care Credit

    Care Credit is a credit card that offers 12 months no interest upon approval. Spreading the payment over 12 months as opposed to the 10 weeks during the course. You may apply at CareCredit.com It is recommend you put in the full amount of the tuition, $4,900.00. Students may use full or partial funding along with payments based on approval amount.

  • Attendance: Regular attendance is required in all classes. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the instructor if an absence is necessary.

    The school requires a 100% completion of class hours in order to receive a certificate of completion from the course. All classes missed by a student must be made up in the next class series prior to obtaining a completion certificate.

    Leave of Absences: Those wishing to cancel for personal reasons or illness, may resume their course of study in the next class series, with no penalty, and may repeat the already completed sessions if desired.

    Inclement Weather: We do not want our students on the road when hazardous travel conditions are present. If weather is questionable, please the Program Director directly, 757-778-7444.

  • Norge Dental Center, Williamsburg’s award-winning dental practice. 7450 Richmond Rd. Williamsburg, VA, 23188

    Our Dental Assisting Program is held at Norge Dental Center, a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, full service, family dental practice. We are an award winning dental practice and have been featured nationally.

    A large laboratory will be utilized for lab exercises, and all 16 dental treatment rooms will be utilized, with no more than 2 students per room.

    All necessary materials and equipment shall be provided as part of the tuition. There is ample student parking on site.

  • Applicants must be a high school graduate or hold a GED. All applicants are required to fill out our application for enrollment and successfully complete our interview.
