We have hand selected each of our instructors. Each instructor is passionate about the field of dentistry and have once been in your shoes.
Owner & Founder
Dr. Timothy Johnston, DDS
Dr. Timothy K. Johnston, owner of Norge Dental Center, was an adjunct professor at VCU School of Dentistry for over 16 years. During that time, he developed a popular “Lunch & Learn” lecture series which presents concepts to third and fourth year dental students, on topics not normally found within the school curriculum. He founded Today’s Dentist Dental Assisting School program when he realized the need for practical hands-on skill based training in his own practice. A man with high standards and deep passion for the art of dentistry Dr Johnston developed the curriculum used today. You won’t find this type of training anywhere else.

Beckie Flowers
Rebecca first started her dental career as a Hygiene Assistant. She was a student in the very first class of Today’s Dentist Assisting School. She then followed her passion to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene. Rebecca is now a Registered Dental Hygienist working at Norge Dental Center. Rebecca’s wild success in Dentistry makes her invaluable to her students. She, along side of Dr Timothy Johnston, our founder, developed the curriculum used today. You won’t find this type of training anywhere else.

Sheryl Brown
Sheryl started her career as a dental assistant when she was just 16 years old. She has over 43 years of experience in the field and has worked in several specialty practices with her favorite being Oral Surgery. Sheryl worked as a Director of Operations for multiple dental practices across Eastern Virginia and knows what it takes to shine as a Dental professional. She now calls Norge Dental Center home and works as a Patient Coordinator.

Katie Coons
Katie received a Certificate in Dental Assisting from Today’s Dentist Assisting School. She is now a dental assistant and has a passion for teaching others about the ever-growing field of Dentistry.

Kayla Jones
Kayla completed Today’s Dentist Assisting School in 2014 and immediately started her dental career as a hygiene assistant. She has since graduated to dental assisting and is now teaching others about her passion. She truly loves her profession.

Robin Robert
Robin has been in the dental profession for over 30 years and is currently an Office Manager. Her knowledge regarding insurance and practice management is invaluable. Robin loves sharing her expertise and passion for Dentistry with future Dental Professionals and knows first hand what it takes to land the job. She is responsible for hiring all employees for Norge Dental Center.

Tania Martinez
Tania fell in love with the art of dentistry while attending Todays Dentist as a student herself. She began working as an assistant for Norge Dental upon completion of the program in 2019. She found that she not only had a passion for helping patients she also loves teaching the art of dental assisting to others who want to pursue their career in the dental field.

Shelby Staton
Shelby knew the dental field was her calling and started working as a dental assistant directly upon graduating high school locally six years ago. She was a childhood patient of both Dr. Johnston and Dr. Henley so naturally she feels right at home working at Norge Dental. Shelby is so excited to help contribute to the education of other future dental assistants.
