Tania’s Career Journey

As a Spanish speaking person, Today’s Dentist Dental Assisting School helped me gain the experience, confidence and knowledge to start my career in the dental field.

Where were you doing before becoming a Dental Assistant?

My husband and I had just moved back to the states from El Salvador. I was working full time for a cleaning company preparing new construction homes. I’ve always had a passion for the dental field which led me to pursue my career.

What was your experience like going through the Dental Assisting School?

Through Today’s Dentist I gained the confidence and capability to feel fully prepared to begin my career as a dental assistant. I love how each instructor really took the time to ensure we were each prepared for our future.

Why did you choose Today’s Dentist Dental Assisting School program?

I was introduced to the program through Literacy for Life, a local non-profit. When I had my initial interview with Beckie Flowers, the Program Director, I knew it was the right place for me.

What advice do you have for anyone thinking of entering the dental field?

The right fit is important. Make sure you find a dental office that makes you feel like part of their family and together, you’ll be changing lives. You’ll be surprised how much you can help people improve their self confidence after a dental appointment.

Explain your career path since graduating from the program.

After finishing the program I began working at Norge Dental Center as a Dental Assistant.

I am also an instructor for Today’s Dentist. I love teaching and helping students pursue their career in the dental field.
